Blood testing FAQs

Get A Drip's blood tests look for deficiencies in your body that may contribute to you being susceptible to certain medical conditions.

Vitamin and mineral deficiencies may also cause you to experience symptoms such as fatigue, regular colds and low moods, and so blood tests are a great diagnostic tool to determine exactly what your body needs.

Get A Drip's laboratory partner is one of the largest in Europe and performs all of its work to the highest possible level of quality. They comply with current UKAS standards and applicable regulatory requirements, so diagnostics are delivered with utmost accuracy.

Blood samples are collected by venepuncture by Get A Drip's mobile healthcare professionals. It is the same process as having a blood test at your local GP surgery.

Get A Drip’s practice is doctor-led, with a team of healthcare professionals comprising GMC-registered doctors, NMC-registered nurses, GPC pharmacists and nutritionists. The Get A Drip team has over 100 years’ combined medical experience in the NHS. They are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for treatment and diagnosis.

Get A Drip recommends drinking water before your blood test as dehydration can cause results to be inaccurate. Drinking water also helps with vein quality when the blood sample is taken.

You'll need to fill out a Get A Drip medical questionnaire before getting a blood test. You'll be asked to disclose any medical conditions you may have and medications you are taking, and confirm that you feel well enough to have the blood test taken that day.

Get A Drip requires all customers to complete a comprehensive medical questionnaire, including their medical history, before proceeding with a drip or booster shot. They do not offer any products to individuals who are known to have contra-indications to their ingredients.

For at-home services booked via Urban, a Get A Drip nurse will call you after booking to run through this medical assessment.

There's no requirement to have a blood test before a drip, but if you have already had a blood test Get A Drip is happy to look at the results and advise the best drip to have.

If your treatment can’t go ahead due to medical reasons discovered at your appointment, we’ll refund the treatment cost but not the callout fee

To avoid this happening, your nurse will call you ahead of your booking to run through your medical history and any medications you’re taking.

You can also message your nurse directly via the Urban app after you’ve booked to discuss.

As long as it’s more than 24hrs before your appointment, your nurse can refund the full cost of the treatment and booking fee so it’s definitely a good idea to consult with them ahead of your booking.

If your nurse can’t find the vein, we’ll refund you fully
In the unlikely scenario they can’t find a vein to administer your treatment, we’ll refund the full cost of treatment and callout fee.

If your nurse thinks a different treatment would be better suited to you at the time of your appointment, they can change your booking there and then. If the new cost is different to your original booking, they’ll let you know so you can confirm you’re happy to go ahead.

Please note that if you originally paid using Apple Pay, you’ll need to add another payment method to allow your nurse to amend your booking (not ideal, we know - we’re working on a fix!).

Yes! You can add on additional services to your booking or consultation if your nurse thinks they are suitable after reviewing your medical form.
