Get A Drip FAQs
A vitamin injection is a method of delivering vitamins directly into your body through a shot. Instead of relying on oral intake, the vitamins are administered directly into your muscles or veins. This approach is particularly useful when your body struggles to absorb vitamins effectively from food or supplements. By injecting the vitamins, they enter your bloodstream directly, ensuring better absorption.
People with the following conditions or allergies should not book vitamin injections:
Please note this is not an exhaustive list, please check with a medical professional before booking.
Allergies: If you have a known allergy to any of the components in the vitamin injection, you should avoid it.
Medical conditions: Certain medical conditions, such as kidney disease or certain types of cancer, may make it necessary to avoid or adjust the dosage of vitamin injections. Your Get A Drip nurse will discuss these with you to determine suitability before your injection as part of your medical questionnaire.
Medications and interactions: Some medications may interact with certain vitamins or their injection forms. It's crucial to inform your nurse about any medications you're taking to avoid potential interactions or adverse effects.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: At present Get A Drip is not able to offer treatment to women during pregnancy. There are some products that those who are breastfeeding can have.
IV vitamin drip therapy is where a blend of essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients are administered directly into your bloodstream through an intravenous drip. This method ensures optimal absorption and speedy delivery of nutrients to support your wellbeing. Get A Drip's IV vitamin drips are designed to address deficiencies, support immunity, increase energy levels, and promote overall health and vitality.
Get A Drip’s practice is doctor-led, with a team of healthcare professionals comprising GMC-registered doctors, NMC-registered nurses, GPC pharmacists and nutritionists. The Get A Drip team has over 100 years’ combined medical experience in the NHS. They are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for treatment and diagnosis.
Start with an at-home consultation
Start by booking a Drip consultation where your nurse will review your medical history and determine your suitability for vitamin IV drip therapy. The consultation costs £50 which covers your nurse’s callout fee. Once they’ve prescribed your treatment, you can add on the cost to your booking and they can administer it there and then.
You can book subsequent Drips directly – your nurse will still conduct a medical check
If you’ve already had a consultation, you can simply book directly. After you’ve booked (but before your treatment), a Get A Drip nurse will call you to run through your medical questionnaire to make sure the treatment you’ve booked is right for you. They’ll advise if it’s unsuitable and you’ll be able to amend or cancel your booking for free.
Add tests to your Drip booking
Get A Drip also offers a range of diagnostic services including DNA and blood testing which your nurse may suggest you add to your order. These tests can help identify and analyse your body’s need for specific micronutrients.

Practice safety
At Get A Drip, safety is of utmost importance. They partner with reputable suppliers who hold medical grade GMP certificates to ensure the quality of their products. All their staff members who administer the drips and booster shots are healthcare professionals, including GMC-registered doctors, NMC-registered nurses, and registered paramedics. Non-medical staff are not allowed to administer their treatments.
Medical questionnaire
You can only have a drip or shot after completing a comprehensive medical questionnaire. Get A Drip’s nurses won’t administer treatment to anyone who may have contraindications.
During and after your treatment
Get A Drip takes pre and post medical observations on everyone receiving drips. Their staff closely monitors these observations, and if any readings are outside the safe range, they will refuse to administer the drip and advise the customer to consult their GP for further medical advice. The doses of vitamins used are within the maximum tolerated limits to avoid any risk of toxicity. Get A Drip also limits the number of drips a customer can have within a specified period to protect the veins from potential long-term damage.
Get A Drip requires all customers to complete a comprehensive medical questionnaire, including their medical history, before proceeding with a drip or booster shot. They do not offer any products to individuals who are known to have contra-indications to their ingredients.
For at-home services booked via Urban, a Get A Drip nurse will call you after booking to run through this medical assessment.

There's no requirement to have a blood test before a drip, but if you have already had a blood test Get A Drip is happy to look at the results and advise the best drip to have.
Get A Drip reserves the right to withhold treatment if they feel it would create complications or concerns. They do not offer their services to anyone under the age of 18.
The maximum number of IV treatments Get A Drip will allow you to have is nine in a six month period. Depending on what is being administered, they do not recommend more than two IV treatments per week.

If your treatment can’t go ahead due to medical reasons discovered at your appointment, we’ll refund the treatment cost but not the callout fee
To avoid this happening, your nurse will call you ahead of your booking to run through your medical history and any medications you’re taking.
You can also message your nurse directly via the Urban app after you’ve booked to discuss.
As long as it’s more than 24hrs before your appointment, your nurse can refund the full cost of the treatment and booking fee so it’s definitely a good idea to consult with them ahead of your booking.
If your nurse thinks a different treatment would be better suited to you at the time of your appointment, they can change your booking there and then. If the new cost is different to your original booking, they’ll let you know so you can confirm you’re happy to go ahead.
Please note that if you originally paid using Apple Pay, you’ll need to add another payment method to allow your nurse to amend your booking (not ideal, we know - we’re working on a fix!).
Yes! You can add on additional services to your booking or consultation if your nurse thinks they are suitable after reviewing your medical form.
